Oatmeal Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. quick oats
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. margarine
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 beaten eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats in a large bowl; add butter and allow to melt, stirring occasionally.
    When cooled to lukewarm, add sugars, eggs and vanilla; stir briskly to combine.
    Sift flour and remaining ingredients in another bowl and add to oat mixture. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Let cool for a few minutes.
    Spread with frosting and broil.
