Margaret'S Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 sticks margarine
    1 lb. box light brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. water
    3 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 small pkg. chocolate bits
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, melt the margarine; add sugar, water and vanilla.
    Let cool.
    Add eggs, then dry ingredients, which have been sifted together.
    Add chocolate bits and chopped nuts.
    Mix well and spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
