Black Walnut Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. allspice
    1 1/2 c. crushed wheat cereal flakes
    1 c. black walnut pieces
    3/4 c. chopped apple
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
    Stir in cereal flakes, walnuts and apple.
    Combine egg, brown sugar, buttermilk and oil.
    Add flour mixture.
    Mix just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
    Do not beat.
    Turn into well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, or until tester inserted in center comes out clean.
    Let stand in pan 10 minutes. Remove to rack to cool completely.
    Yields 1 loaf.
