Ingredients

1 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. flour
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
2 c. milk
3 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Blend together sugar and flour.
Combine egg yolks and milk. Pour two mixtures together in medium saucepan.
Cook slowly and stir constantly over low heat until mixture becomes thick.
Add butter, flavoring and coconut into mixture and stir until blended. Pour into pie shell.
May top with meringue made of 2 or 3 egg whites, 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Beat until stiff.
Garnish with shredded coconut.
Bake until golden brown at 350\u00b0
(15 minutes).
