Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion, chopped
    1/4 c. butter
    2 lb. round steak (1/4 to 1/2 inch thick)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 can golden mushroom soup
    1/2 soup can water
    1 c. commercial sour cream
Preparation
    Saute onion in 1 tablespoon butter and remove from pan.
    Cut steak into strips approximately 2 1/2-inches long and 3/4-inch wide.
    Melt additional 2 tablespoons butter in a pan.
    Coat steak strips with flour and brown steak in butter.
    Add salt, onions and soup.
    Stir in 1/2 can of water.
    Simmer, stirring occasionally, until meat is tender, about 1 1/4 hours.
    Add sour cream; heat. Serve over noodles.
