Pork Chops And Rice Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 pork chops
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 can tomatoes
    1 onion, sliced
    1 can beef consomme
    1/2 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Salt and pepper pork chops; brown in shortening.
    Remove and set aside.
    Pour rice into drippings in skillet; cook, stirring constantly, until light brown.
    In a large casserole, place browned rice and remaining ingredients.
    Lay pork chops on top.
    Cover; cook about 1 hour at 350\u00b0, or until liquid is absorbed.
    (Easy to make and easy to eat.)
