"Stompin" Good Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, sliced thin
    2 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. tarragon
    4 beef or chicken bouillon cubes
    2 c. sliced celery
    1 (No. 2 1/2) can crushed tomatoes
    1/2 c. pearl barley
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 small head cabbage, coarsely chopped
    16 oz. frozen mixed vegetables
    1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 qt. water
    4 oz. shell macaroni
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Brown crumbled meat with onion and garlic.
    Add remaining ingredients except cornstarch and 1/4 cup water.
    Bring to boil, then simmer 20 to 30 minutes until barley is tender.
    Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water; stir into hot stew.
    Cook, stirring, until clear and thickened.
    Serves 6.
