Stove Top Corn Bread(Recipe Developed March 19, 1988) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. yellow corn meal
    1/2 c. plain flour
    1/8 c. sugar (optional)
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. whole milk
    1 medium egg
Preparation
    Sift meal and flour; mix dry ingredients.
    Beat egg until fluffy.
    Stir in egg and milk; spray skillet with Pam.
    Preheat skillet.
    Pour mixture into skillet; turn heat down to very low and cover.
    Cook until top of cornbread is firm; turn cornbread over and brown top.
    Corn bread will cook in 15 or 20 minutes.
    Makes 8 slices.
