Perfect Peppermint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
    2 tsp. peppermint extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    2 c. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine first four ingredients.
    Add milk and mix well.
    (It will be sticky.)
    Dust hands with confectioners sugar and roll into 1-inch balls and place on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
    Chill 30 minutes.
    Flatten with a glass to 1/4-inch. Freeze 1 hour.
    In double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and shortening.
    Dip patties; place on wax paper to harden.
    Store in airtight container.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
