Peach Custard Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. whole milk
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar plus 3 Tbsp.
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 slices day old bread
    3 or 4 fresh peaches or equivalent of canned or frozen peaches
Preparation
    Put 2 slices bread in bottom of glass loaf baking dish.
    Slice peaches and put on top of bread.
    Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons sugar.
    Put remaining 2 slices of bread on top of peaches.
    Beat eggs well.
    Add milk, sugar and vanilla and pour over bread-peach layers.
    Put baking dish in shallow pan of water and bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 to 60 minutes.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
