Liechtenstein Sauerkraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 strips bacon
    1/3 c. onion, chopped
    2 c. sauerkraut
    2 apples, diced (unpeeled)
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar (heaping)
Preparation
    Take 2 strips of bacon, snip and fry crisp.
    Drain off most of fat.
    Leave enough in pan to saute onion until transparent.
    Rinse and squeeze moisture out of sauerkraut.
    Add diced, unpeeled apples and brown sugar.
    Put lid on and simmer for an hour or more.
    This is great served with braised pork ribs or pork chops.
