Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. crushed saltine crackers (30 crackers)
1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
3 c. thinly sliced onions (preferably Vidalia)
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3/4 c. milk or sour cream (or combo of both)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. salt
dash of nutmeg
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

In a bowl, combine saltines and 1/4 cup butter.
Press in a 9-inch pie plate.
Saute onions in the 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat for 15 minutes.
Stir until tender not brown.
Put in a pie shell.
Beat milk, eggs, salt and nutmeg.
Pour over onions. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until set. Place pie plate on a cookie sheet before putting in oven.
