Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium jar maraschino cherries (1/2 red and 1/2 green)
    1 lb. nuts
    1 lb. dates
    1/2 c. cherry juice
    4 beaten eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 tsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Mix all together.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Put in 2 or 3 small greased loaf pans.
