Lemon Bars - cooking recipe

1 pkg. lemon cake mix
3 large eggs
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/4 c. lemon juice
confectioners sugar
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Combine dry cake mix, 1 egg and shortening in bowl; mix until crumbly, then measure 1 cup and set aside.
Pat remaining mixture lightly in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
Beat remaining 2 eggs, sugar, baking powder, salt, lemon peel and lemon juice until light and foamy; pour over hot crust.
Sprinkle with reserved 1 cup mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Cool.
Cut into bars.
