Toffee Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening (half butter)
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Mix together thoroughly shortening and sugar.
    Stir in flour. Press and flatten with hand to cover bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Then spread with the following Almond Coconut Topping.
