Barry Goldwater'S Arizona Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. coarse ground beef
    1 lb. dry pinto beans, soaked overnight
    6 oz. tomato sauce
    2 c. chopped onion
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. cumin
    salt to taste
    water (if needed)
Preparation
    Saute beef and drain off fat, leaving a little for flavor. Add beans and onion and stir well.
    Mix the chili powder, cumin and salt (about 2 teaspoons to taste) and add to chili.
    Bring to boil, stirring.
    Turn to low and cook slowly until onion and beans are tender, adding water to desired consistency as needed.
    Serves 4 to 6.
