Buttermilk Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. cornmeal (white)
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 large egg
    4 Tbsp. cooking oil
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Put oil in a 10-inch iron skillet and place in oven to heat.
    Put milk in a medium size mixing bowl and add soda and stir.
    Add meal, flour, salt, baking powder and egg. Mix well.
    Add 2 tablespoons of hot oil to mixture and stir.
    Pour in pan and cook until brown, about 20 or 25 minutes.
    (Sometimes I add 2 tablespoons of sugar to mixture.)
