Standard Butter Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. cake flour (take out 2 level of each c. sifted plain flour)
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs, separated
1 c. melted butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract *
1 tsp. lemon extract *
1 c. milk
Preparation

Beat egg yolks in small mixer bowl; cream butter and sugar and add extract.
In meantime, sift flour and measure.
Add baking powder and salt to flour mixture and set aside.
Add beaten egg yolks to butter mixture and beat.
Add flour mixture and milk alternately to butter mixture.
Beat egg whites stiff but not dry. Fold into cake mixture.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
