Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 qt. sweetened applesauce
4 c. flour (self-rising)
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts
1 box raisins
1 box chopped dates

Preparation

Cream together shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, then applesauce.
Add flour and spices; mix well.
Add vanilla.
Add nuts, raisins and dates.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 1/2 hours in a 325\u00b0 oven.
