Cherry Almond Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. oil
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    3 Tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Beat egg, stir in milk, oil, cherry syrup and almond extract. Mix in flour, 1/4 cup sugar, cherries, baking powder and salt, just until flour is moistened.
    Fill 12 muffin cups 2/3 full.
    Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and 2 Tbsp. chopped almonds.
    Sprinkle over batter in muffin tins.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
