Boiled Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. seedless raisins
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. water
    1 c. shortening or margarine
    2 tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
    1 c. walnuts, if desired
Preparation
    Boil all together for 10 minutes.
    Cool to lukewarm, then add baking soda, baking powder, eggs, vanilla and flour (enough to make a medium stiff batter). Add walnuts if desired.
    Pour into greased and floured 10 x 14-inch pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for about 1 hour or until it tests done.
