Dutch Oven Strawberry Dumplings - cooking recipe

2/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 1/3 c. water
2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 c. margarine
4 c. strawberries
1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

In
a
12-inch\tDutch
oven,
combine 2/3 cup sugar and water; bring
to a boil.\tReduce heat; lightly simmer, uncovered,
for 5
minutes.
Stir
in
vanilla.
Mix in a bowl the flour,
6 tablespoons
sugar, baking powder and salt.
Cut in margarine until mixture is crumbly.
Add milk; stir until well combined. Place
strawberries
in
hot
syrup.
Drop dumpling dough over strawberries.
Sprinkle dumplings with sugar.
Bake in a very hot oven at 450\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes, using 6 to 10 coals on bottom and 18 to 22 coals on top.
