Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. corn meal mix
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)

Preparation

Combine corn meal mix, sugar and onion in bowl.
Add milk and egg to dry ingredients, stirring to combine.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot deep fat (375\u00b0), frying only a few at a time.
Fry until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
