Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head lettuce
    1 lb. bacon, cooked crisp
    2 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. vinegar (apple cider)
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, combine bacon grease, sugar, water and vinegar.
    Heat at medium heat until it thickens.
    Remove from heat; let cool.
    Break lettuce up in a large salad bowl.
    Crumble cooked bacon over lettuce; pour cooled sauce over lettuce.
    Toss and serve.
