Smothered Gar Fish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 gar steaks
    1 clove garlic
    3/4 full skillet of cooking oil
    season steaks to taste
    1 c. meal
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. seasoned salt (optional)
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Combine meal and flour and coat steaks.
    Fry in hot oil until done.
    Remove steaks and excess oil from skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons and fish renderings.
    Add garlic and onions.
    Cook until soft.
    Add 2 cups of water; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
    Add steaks.
    Bring to boil again.
    Lower heat, cover and simmer.
    Serve with rice.
