Glorified Rice Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. cold water
    3 c. cold, cooked rice
    1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
    2 c. whipping cream, whipped or 4 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    2 bananas, halved and sliced
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in water; heat to lukewarm until smooth and clear.
    Mix all ingredients except whipped topping in a bowl. Fold in topping.
    Pour into lightly oiled mold and refrigerate until ready to serve.
    Unmold onto lettuce.
    May be put in oblong pan and cut into squares to serve.
