Prize Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift
    flour.
    Add soda and sift again.
    Cut in shortening, using
    fork, until particles of mixture are the size of a pea. Add
    buttermilk
    to
    make
    a
    soft
    dough.
    Knead
    until ingredients are well blended.
    Roll on floured board.
    Cut and bake on baking sheet at 425\u00b0 until brown.
    This makes about 18 biscuits.
    When
    biscuits are barely brown, they can be cooled and frozen.
