Crisp Garlic Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced medium cucumbers
    6 medium white onions, sliced
    2 green peppers, sliced
    3 garlic cloves
    1/3 c. pickling salt
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. cider vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Sterilize canning jars first.
    Combine cucumbers, onions, green peppers and whole garlic cloves.
    Add salt.
    Cover with cracked ice; mix thoroughly.
    Let stand overnight or 3 hours; drain well.
    Remove garlic cloves.
    Combine ingredients; pour over cucumber mix.
    Bring to boil.
    Fill jars to 1/2 inch of top. Process in boiling water for 5 minutes.
    Start timing when water returns to boil.
    Makes 5 pints.
