Mystery Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 can sauerkraut
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 c. water
    1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Rinse sauerkraut thoroughly; cut up into small pieces.
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Beat in eggs one at a time.
    Add vanilla.
    In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, soda and cocoa. Add to creamed mixture alternately with water, beating after each addition.
    Stir in sauerkraut and nuts.
    Turn into greased and floured pans (13 x 9-inch).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Frost with sour cream frosting.
