Grandma Barbara'S Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 chicken breasts, skin removed
    6 to 8 whole carrots
    6 to 8 stalks celery, chopped
    4 whole parsnips
    1 garlic bud
    6 to 8 scallions, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 medium onions
Preparation
    Wash chicken; prepare vegetables.
    Fill 4-quart pot with cold water; bring to boil (add all ingredients just before water come to full boil).
    Skim any fat which rises to top.
    Turn heat to medium; stir briefly.
    Cook at medium to medium-low heat for about 1 1/2 hours.
    Add water to maintain original level.
    Remove all bones from chicken.
    Strain, cool and refrigerate.
    Heat and enjoy!!
