Cherry Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup sugar
    2 cups sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup butter
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Mix sugar and flour; sift with baking powder and salt.
    Cut in the butter; add egg and mix to make crumbs.
    Place 1/2 of the crumb mixture in the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan.
    Pour cherries over the crumbs in the pan.
    Top with remaining crumbs.
    Bake in a moderate oven 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or plain.
