Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cubed potatoes
    4 slices bacon
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    4 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown bacon until crisp.
    Drain.
    Save bacon grease.
    Cook potatoes, onion and bacon grease in the boiling water until potatoes are tender.
    Add milk, salt, pepper and crumbled bacon. Heat until almost boiling.
    Mix cornstarch with just enough cold water to smooth.
    Add to hot mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Serves 8.
