Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can pineapple, cut in 1/2
    1 (12 oz.) can mandarin oranges and juice
    1 c. green grapes, seedless and cut in 1/2
    1 c. red grapes, seedless and cut in 1/2
    1 red Delicious apple, diced
    1 jar maraschino cherries
    2 large bananas
    1 c. sugar
    1 Golden Delicious apple, diced
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut up pineapple, oranges and grapes.
    Add 1 cup sugar.
    Let stand overnight.
    Before ready to serve, drain and add apples, cherries (cut in 1/2) and bananas (cut in chunks).
