Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1/4 c. hot water
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1/2-inch thick paraffin slice (cut across narrow way of stick)
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Boil sugar, syrup and water until mixture will spin a little thread.
    Add peanuts and cook, stirring constantly, until light brown.
    Remove from heat.
    Add paraffin and soda, stirring fast and well.
