Sweet Pickle Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. salt
    4 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    4 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    3/4 tsp. mustard seed
    medium size cucumbers (enough to fill 9 pt. jars)
Preparation
    Wash and cut fresh, firm, medium size cucumbers into sticks. Pour boiling water over them and let stand 4 to 5 hours.
    Drain and pack solidly into jars.
    Make a solution of ingredients.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Pour boiling water over the cucumbers in jars. Seal and process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
    Makes 9 pints.
