Pound Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pt. sugar
    1 pt. Karo white syrup
    1/2 lb. Prairie Farms butter (not margarine)
    1 large can and 1 small can Pet milk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. English walnuts
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients but the nuts and vanilla.
    Cook, cook, cook until soft ball stage; cook on low (will burn easy) until melted, then on high.
    Be careful, will scorch.
    After reaching soft ball stage, remove from stove and let cool.
    Beat with beater as long as you can, then beat with spoon.
    Add 2 cups English walnuts (more nuts used makes it better) and 2 teaspoons vanilla.
    Pour into buttered pan.
    Slice into squares when cool.
