Roasted Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 ripe, red tomatoes (about 3 lb.)
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Core the tomatoes and cut in half horizontally.
    Squeeze gently to remove the seeds.
    Place them cut side up on a rack in a broiler pan.
    In a small bowl, combine the oil, basil, thyme, salt and pepper. Brush over the cut sides of the tomatoes.
    Place cut side down on the rack and bake for 30 minutes.
    Remove the skin, if desired.
    Use in pasta salad or as a vegetable side dish.
