Date-Nut-Orange Cake(Makes One 9-Inch Tube Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. margarine or butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. cut-up dates
    1 1/2 c. orange juice from a carton, not concentrated
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
Preparation
    Combine.
    Stir well to dissolve sugar.
    Slowly pour over hot cake, being sure to pour into the crack on top of cake and around the side of tube pan.
    Allow the cake to stand overnight in refrigerator before removing from the pan.
