Ingredients

2 medium cucumbers, peeled and sliced
2 medium onions, peeled and separated into rings
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 c. ice water
1 Tbsp. corn oil
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Put 1/2 of the onion rings in a bowl.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of the sugar, salt, pepper and oil.
Next, put cucumbers and repeat layers with remaining sugar.
Combine vinegar and water and pour over cucumbers and onions.
Shake.
Chill.
Will stay crisp, 2 to 3 days.
