Layered Bean Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans (16 oz. each) refried beans
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 envelope taco seasoning mix
    3/4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. shredded lettuce
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 jar (16 oz.) salsa or picante (thick and chunky)
    tortilla chips
Preparation
    Spread refried beans on bottom of 14-inch serving dish.
    Brown ground beef.
    Drain off fat.
    Add taco seasoning and water; simmer for 15 minutes.
    Spread mixture over refried beans.
    Arrange layers of lettuce, salsa or picante and cheese on top of meat. Garnish with desired toppings and serve with tortilla chips. Makes 14 to 16 appetizer servings.
