Black Walnut Sponge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 eggs, separated
1/2 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
Add water and continue to beat.
Beat in sugar gradually.
Add vanilla, cinnamon, salt, nuts and flour.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add cream of tartar to egg whites.
Fold egg whites into batter.
Pour into ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes.
