Beehive Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add alternately with milk to first mixture.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat egg whites stiff.
    Add to batter. Bake at 375\u00b0 25 minutes in 8-inch square pan.
