Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch or more to thicken
    1 tsp. salt
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
    1 c. water
    1 qt. strawberries
    food coloring (red)
Preparation
    Wash, stem and drain strawberries.
    Place berries in the bottom of baked pie shell.
    Slowly cook the sugar, cornstarch, water, salt and food coloring until glossy.
    Pour hot mixture over the strawberries and place in refrigerator until cold.
    Just before serving, cover with whipped cream.
