Soft Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
1 egg or 1/4 c. egg substitute
1/3 c. buttermilk or skim milk or instant milk
3/4 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Mix together flour, sugar, salt, soda, cinnamon and cloves in a 1-quart mixing bowl.
Rub in shortening with spoon.
Add egg and buttermilk, beating vigorously.
Stir in rolled oats, raisins and nuts.
Blend very well and refrigerate for a few hours.
