Priest'S Ragout - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. cubed pork or veal
    2 cloves garlic
    3 Tbsp. butter
    allspice
    red pepper
    20 to 30 pearl onions
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    salt and pepper
    cinnamon
Preparation
    Brown cubes in butter.
    Add garlic and pearl onions; brown again with meat for 5 to 8 minutes.
    Add peppers (red and black); paprika can be substituted if you don't want it spicy.
    Add allspice, cinnamon, salt and 4 cups of water.
    (All spices are by taste, vary amounts as needed.)
    Cook for 3 hours over medium-low heat until meat is very tender.
