Apple Gingerbread Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. fat
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. molasses (mild)
3 to 5 firm peeled, sliced apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt fat in boiling water.
Add molasses.
Sift flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together.
Mix wet and dry ingredients together.
Arrange apples, cinnamon and sugar in buttered baking dish or heavy pan.
Pour the gingerbread mixture over the apples.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
Turn the gingerbread out carefully, upside-down.
Serve hot or cold with hard sauce or cream.
