Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. flour
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk, scalded
    3 slightly beaten egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 pie shell, baked
    3 egg whites
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix flour, 2/3 cup sugar and salt; gradually add milk.
    Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly.
    Add small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks; stir into remaining hot mixture.
    Cook 2 minutes and cool.
    Add butter and vanilla extract.
    Pour into baked shell and spread with meringue made with egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    If desired, add 1 cup coconut to filling and sprinkle some on top.
