Old-Fashioned Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 lb. chuck or bottom round, cut in 2-inch pieces*
    1 tsp. salt (if desired)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. paprika (if desired)
    1 qt. water
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed or diced tomatoes
    2 cans beef broth
    4 medium potatoes, sliced
    1 to 2 c. thinly sliced carrots
    1 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. onion (if desired)
Preparation
    *If you want more of a meat flavor, add 2 pounds.
    You can also add more vegetables, if you like.
