Scandinavian Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples (3 1/2 c.), peeled, cored and chopped
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cardamom
    2/3 c. melted butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine apples, sugar and butter in bowl.
    Stir in eggs and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add to apple mixture.
    Stir only until blended.
    Divide batter between 2 greased 8 or 9-inch square pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Wrap well and refrigerate.
    The longer you let it stand, the better it is.
