Louisiana Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can evaporated milk
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 stick slightly salted butter (not margarine)
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    4 c. pecan halves and pieces
Preparation
    Mix evaporated milk and sugar and cook until mixture will form a soft ball when dropped in cold water.
    Add butter and vanilla. Remove from heat and beat until cool.
    Add the pecans and crop on greased cookie sheet immediately.
    Allow to cool completely.
